Netherlicious - Enhanced Nether for Minecraft
The Netherlicious mod completely transforms the Nether, adding new biomes, creatures, and mechanics that make hell exploration truly exciting.
🎵 Updates and Fixes
The latest update significantly reduced the mod size and introduced important fixes:
- Fixed dancing fire particles near torches
- Solved resource loading issues in older Java versions
- Added new sounds for nether wood blocks
- Crystals and clusters now make sounds when hit by projectiles
- New button and pressure plate sounds can be disabled in configuration
⚠️ Important Respawn Anchor Warning
The respawn anchor only works in the Nether! Don't break it without setting a new respawn point in hell first, or you might get stuck after death. The Nether respawn point is not overwritten by the Overworld respawn point.
🐾 Nether Creatures
Animals and Neutral Creatures
Strider - tamed like a horse or with Fungal Treats, follows players holding fungi, can breed. Spawns in almost all Nether biomes.
Hoglin - tamed with Fungal Treats, turns into Zoglin when struck by lightning. Spawns in Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, and Foxfire Swamp.
Piglin - your "friendly" neighbor in hell. Trades like villagers, hunts monsters. Attacks if you're not wearing gold armor (can be disabled in settings).
Monsters
Zoglin - can be healed and turned back into Hoglin with weakness potion and golden carrot.
Blaze Knight - enhanced blaze with high protection and knockback resistance.
Skull - jumping skeleton skull, sometimes spawns as withered version.
Spore Rays - hostile flying creatures of three types (Crimson, Warped, Foxfire), slowly pursuing players.
Zombified Piglin - zombie version of piglin, can be cured like zombie villagers.
Ambient Creatures
Small fire elementals and spores that automatically despawn after 3 minutes:
- Ember, Smolder, Ashling, Soul Ember, Foxfire Ember, Shadow Ember - can inflict various effects on contact
- Crimson Spore, Warped Spore, Foxfire Spore - completely harmless

⚙️ Block Mechanics
Bone Meal:
- Used on nylium to grow biome-specific plants
- Spreads nylium to netherrack
- Creates huge fungi with enough space
Climbing:
- Warped and twisting vines - hold jump key
- Chains - like ladders
Special Fire Types:
- Soulfire - deals more damage
- Foxfire - only harms fire-immune creatures
- Shadowfire - deals wither damage, causes blindness
Other Mechanics:
- Stripping bark from fungi logs with axe
- Torches and lanterns can burn out
- Redstone-powered chains control redstone lanterns
- Blackstone and basalt generators using spectral dew
- Spore Cushions - completely negate fall damage
- Nether Beacon - works in Nether with increased range
🌱 Farming
All crops can be found in the Nether. Option to disable spawns and get seeds from nether grasses.
💰 Piglin Trading
Piglins offer extensive range of goods for gold:
- Potions, experience bottles, water bottles
- Nether resources: netherrack, basalt, quartz, obsidian
- Mob drops: blaze rods, ghast tears, skulls
- Plants and seeds
- Various powders and dust
