Tired of boring and monotonous death messages in Minecraft? The New Death Messages mod completely transforms this aspect of the game! Instead of standard notifications, you'll get witty, humorous, and pop-culture-referencing phrases that will diversify your gameplay.
🔄 What Changes
The mod replaces all 99 standard death messages with creative alternatives. Every character death situation is now accompanied by unique text that accurately describes what happened but with humor.
📝 How Messages Work
The new messages use special placeholders:
- %1$s — name of the deceased player or named mob
- %2$s — creature or player who caused the death
- %3$s — item used to inflict fatal damage
🎭 Examples of New Messages
Here are some of the updated messages:
- Falling from height: "%1$s decided that climbing was overrated"
- Lightning strike: "Zeus decided %1$s should die"
- Burning in lava: "%1$s discovered that lava is not a cheeto-colored hot tub"
- Drowning: "%1$s forgot to bring their Seaglide"
- Starvation: "The cake promised to %1$s was a lie and they starved to death"
- Killed by player: "%1$s and %2$s are no longer friends"
- Arrow from bow: "%1$s was 360 no-scoped by %2$s"
🖥️ Additional Changes
The mod also makes minor interface adjustments:
- The "You Died!" text is replaced with "Bummer..."
- The "Score" item is now called "Random Numbers"
🎮 Compatibility
The mod is available for Minecraft versions 1.20.1 and 1.19.2.
