NGS's ScorchedGun Stats and Create Recipe
Originally created for friends, this datapack is now available to everyone who shares similar ideas about weapon balance and crafting recipes. The main goals of the project:
Ammunition Automation - the system actively integrates with Create, encouraging the use of automated assembly lines for bullet production.
Interface Optimization - most recipes have been removed from the CGM workbench, preventing interface clutter and simplifying navigation.
Logical Resource Chain - a carefully designed crafting system that uses existing Scorched Bronze resources without introducing redundant intermediate components.
Visual Consistency - ammunition types and weapon mechanics have been reworked to better match their visual design.
Compatibility
Required Dependencies:
- Create
- Haywire Robots, Bandits and Guns - Scorched Bronze addon
Important: ~SCORCHED GUNS~ is incompatible as it doesn't contain the necessary resources. ~SCORCHED GUNS 2~ is the updated version without Create support - use it without this datapack.
Balance Features
Weapon stats remain largely unchanged after the bronze level, making the balance more flexible. Weapon progression maintains the original Scorched Gun structure:
Primitive → Copper → Iron/Steel → Brass/Tin Bronze → Scorched Bronze → Ethereal
To simplify compatibility with other mods, recipes using tin, bronze, and cinder have been replaced with brass and blaze powder, which aligns with the original mod's approach.
Brass/tin bronze tier weapons, as well as all scorched bronze and ethereal models, are crafted using Create's mechanical crafter.
Balance Note: Cyclone's projectile explosion damage cannot be adjusted through datapack as it depends on standard Minecraft explosions. Flechette Jet was originally planned to be redesigned as a 4-shot autocannon, but system limitations prevented this implementation.
