No Feeding Baby
About the Mod
This Fabric mod blocks the ability to feed baby animals in Minecraft. It was created after the author noticed that a huge number of flowers were being consumed by young bees instead of adult ones during breeding. Although flowers aren't a valuable resource on most servers, watching them being wasted proved quite unpleasant.
Main Features
Feeding Block
When attempting to feed a baby animal (for example, wheat to a calf or flowers to a young bee), nothing will happen. This allows you to save resources and prevents accidental food waste on animals that can't yet provide benefits.
Flexible Configuration
The mod offers a comprehensive configuration system where you can choose the operating mode: whitelist or blacklist. You can add creature identifiers (such as minecraft:cow) to the appropriate list to enable or disable feeding capability.
For quick settings management, you can use the ALT + right-click combination on a baby animal while holding food to switch the animal between lists.
Client and Server Support
Although the mod was originally developed for client use, it also functions fully on the server side. Feeding baby animals is only allowed when both sides agree:
| Client → ↓ Server | Not Installed | Allow | Disallow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not Installed | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ |
| Allow | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ |
| Disallow | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
Note: If feeding is disabled only on the server, the player will see false feeding that doesn't actually consume any food.
Server administrators (with access level at least 2) can manage settings using the /nofeedingbaby command.
