No Mob Farming Patched
What is this modification?
The No Mob Farming Patched modification addresses the common problem of automated mob farming by limiting loot drops. Drops from creatures appear only if they were killed directly by the player or their tamed pet. If fatal damage was caused by fire, fall damage, or other environmental factors, no loot will drop.
This is an improved version of the original No Mob Farming mod by Laike_Endaril. In the initial version, drops were blocked for all entities, including tamed wolves, making cooperative hunting with pets pointless. This fork corrects this oversight by adding various tamable creatures to the list of those whose attacks are considered valid for obtaining loot.
Important: mod versions starting from 1.0.1 require installation of Sophisticated Wolves and Simply Cats modifications. If you only need the fix for standard wolves, use version 1.0.0.
Supported Creatures
Here's the list of creatures that can cause loot drops (strikethrough text indicates incomplete implementation):
Wolves — Sophisticated wolves — Cats (from Simply Cats)
The developer plans to expand this list in future updates.
Issues and Solutions
Like the original mod, this version doesn't guarantee 100% prevention of drops in all cases. Some mods, such as Primal Core, add loot to mobs using non-standard methods, which may bypass the restrictions. A temporary solution could be disabling additional mob drops in Primal Core settings and using the LootTweaker mod to directly add the needed items to the loot tables of corresponding creatures.
