No Telemetry
Protect Your Privacy in Minecraft
The No Telemetry mod completely disables the usage data collection (so-called telemetry) that was reintroduced by developers in Minecraft version 1.18.
Problem History
The statistics collection system already existed in Minecraft from version 1.3.1 to 1.12 under the name Snooper, but was removed in update 1.13 due to non-compliance with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation requirements.
Unfortunately, in version 1.18 this feature returned, and in an even more problematic form. Unlike the previous implementation, the new telemetry system transmits your unique Xbox identifier (XUID) in plain text, which allows directly linking the collected data to a specific user.
What Data is Collected?
Every time you launch a singleplayer world or connect to a multiplayer server, the game sends:
- Launcher identifier
- Unique Xbox user identifier (XUID) - this parameter allows identifying you
- Client session identifier (changes on restart)
- Game session identifier (changes with each world load)
- Game version
- Operating system name and version
- Java version
- Information about mod presence
- Server type (singleplayer, Realms, or other)
- Game mode
The developers did not provide users with the ability to disable this function in the settings, so the No Telemetry mod solves this problem by completely blocking the sending of telemetry data.
