Nocturnal Mod
Introduction to the World of Corruption
Originally created for the FTB Nocturne modpack, this mod is now available for all mod developers. Its main function is the gradual accumulation of flux in the chunk where the player is located. When the flux level exceeds 300 units, the process of transforming the territory into the defiled lands biome begins (requires additional dependency on the Defiled Lands mod) and corrupting blocks, reminiscent of the taint spread mechanics from old Thaumcraft.
Protection Against Corruption
To counter this effect, the mod includes a special amulet that prevents flux accumulation at the cost of its own durability. Over time, the amulet receives damage and can be destroyed.
Effects of High Flux Levels
When a certain flux threshold is reached in the area, the player begins to receive various buffs, the strength of which depends on the current pollution level. These effects can be either positive or negative - everything is configurable through configuration files or can be completely disabled.
Configuration and Customization
The mod offers extensive customization options: you can adjust the corruption rate, threshold values, amulet durability (up to the possibility of making it unbreakable). Pack developers can disable player flux generation, set their own values for various effects - everything to implement the unique vision of your project.
By default, the amulet has no crafting recipe, allowing pack creators to determine the appropriate way to obtain it themselves.
Compatibility and Recommendations
For deeper immersion in the mechanics, it is recommended to use the Animus addon for Blood Magic, which adds the eldritch will ritual that helps fight corruption (or conversely - enhance it!).
