NoteBlock Expander

This mod enhances the musical capabilities in Minecraft by introducing two main block types: Extended Note Block and Instrument Blocks.

The Extended Note Block allows adjusting sound pitch by entire octaves, significantly expanding musical possibilities compared to regular note blocks.

Instrument Blocks feature a thoughtful and clear design, making instrument setup intuitive even for beginners.

Obtaining Blocks

Craft an Extended Note Block using a regular note block at a crafting table. Both regular and extended note blocks can be smelted into Pure Tone. Then combine Pure Tone with a block related to a specific instrument (for example, Sand for a snare drum or Packed Ice for chimes) to create the corresponding Instrument Block.

All crafting recipes can be viewed in-game using mods like JEI.

Usage Features

• Extended Note Blocks only work with Instrument Blocks placed beneath them. They don't interact with standard instrument-assignment blocks. If any other block is underneath, the harp sound will play.
• Instrument Blocks also affect the sound of regular note blocks.
• To configure Extended Note Blocks: right-click to increase pitch, and Shift+right-click or left-click (in Survival mode) to change octave.
• Particle colors indicate the current octave: blue - low, green - medium, red - high.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

• Missing particles when playing sounds or when another player changes pitch This is a MCreator limitation. Working on improvements!

• No sound Check:

  • Whether sound is muted in settings
  • If there's a block above the note block (including regular ones: they require an air block above for sound; mob heads aren't supported)
