About the Mod
Inspired by Exalm's Old Days mod, Nostalgic Tweaks: Renewed brings back numerous lost or changed gameplay elements from classic, alpha, beta, and other early versions of Minecraft. This project was specifically designed for nostalgia enthusiasts who want to relive the glory days of the Java edition by customizing settings according to their preferences.
Among the main nostalgic features are classic lighting systems from original versions and pre-beta 1.8, original fog rendering, classic sky and void colors, 2D floating items without diffused lighting, previous mob spawning mechanics, outdated combat systems, old game screens, C418 musical compositions, and much more! Currently available are over 400+ nostalgia settings in version 1.0.0, with the number continuing to grow!
For maximum immersion into the atmosphere of the past, it's recommended to use the Golden Days resource pack by PoeticRainbow. It includes multiple themed sets, including the alpha version and pairs perfectly with Nostalgic Tweaks: Renewed. For creating nostalgic terrain, use the Moderner Beta mod by BlueStaggo.
Configuration
To open the mod's configuration menu, press the O key during gameplay or on the title screen. The key combination can be changed in the standard game control menu or in the mod's settings. With Mod Menu installed for Fabric, access to settings is also available through the Mods button.
Each setting in the configuration menu has tags above its name. Each tag identifies different parameter aspects. Hover your cursor over a tag to view additional information in a tooltip. In the configuration window, you can favorite a setting, view its status, modify client/server values, save, undo changes, reset, or update the parameter.
The configuration menu supports search functionality. Search queries entered into the input field will display fuzzy match results. This means the mod will attempt to show results it believes you were trying to find. You can narrow search results using Search Tags. To view all available search tags, open the configuration menu and click the Manage button in the bottom-left corner of the screen, then navigate to the help category and scroll down.
The configuration menu also supports keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl + F - focus search, Ctrl + S - save settings, Esc - exit menu, Ctrl + ←, Alt + ←, Ctrl + →, Alt + → - navigate between category groups without clicking category buttons. You can use the Tab key and Arrow Keys to navigate through various menu elements. Press Spacebar or Enter to perform an action on the highlighted element.
