Nyx - Transforming Minecraft's Night World
The moon in Minecraft has always been just a source of light, passively observing the world's events. The Nyx modification radically changes this situation, turning nighttime into a period of amazing events and dangerous adventures related to lunar cycles and celestial phenomena.
Enchantment Magic
The enchantment system gains completely new possibilities related to lunar phases. Now you can apply special lunar enchantments to equipment:
Lunar Shield - increases armor protection depending on the current moon phase. During a full moon, this protection surpasses regular Protection enchantment, while during a new moon the effect is completely absent.
Lunar Edge - enhances melee weapon attack following the same principle. During a full moon, damage exceeds Sharpness indicators, and killing mobs provides double experience. During a new moon, the enchantment doesn't work.
A new mechanic has also appeared - the enchantment table now works only at night, which can be changed in the mod settings.
Lunar Events and Celestial Phenomena
Full Moon turns night into a real challenge: monsters spawn more frequently and can possess enhancing effects like Speed, Strength, Resistance, and Invisibility. Wolves become aggressive towards all players and peaceful mobs.
Harvest Moon - a rare event when the sky turns a delicate blue color. During such nights, hostile mobs don't spawn (except for slimes), and crops grow faster. Slimes can reach unusually large sizes.
Blood Moon - a sinister event with a blood-red sky when monsters spawn with enormous frequency and can appear closer to the player (configurable in settings).
Falling Stars - if you look at the night sky for a long time, you might notice white flashes. Following them, you'll find a Fallen Star or, much more rarely, a Meteor Shard.
Star Showers - when the sky turns golden, falling stars appear significantly more often.
Meteors - rare and destructive celestial bodies falling with a fiery trail. They appear more often at night, leaving behind Meteoric Rocks from which Astral Shards are mined. The probability of a meteor falling decreases if players stay in one area for a long time, so to find them you need to explore new territories. After visiting the Nether, the chances increase.
During Harvest Moon, meteors can leave special rock that yields Gleaming Crystals instead of regular shards.
New Items and Resources
Fallen Stars - found at star impact sites, used for creating decorative blocks.
Meteor Shards - the main material from meteoric rocks. Can be ground into dust for creating blast-resistant glass or smelted into ingots. Ingots are used for crafting meteoric weapons, tools, armor, and tracking devices.
Lunar Water - created by keeping water in a cauldron under the night sky (time depends on moon phase) with subsequent addition of Lapis Lazuli. Heals negative effects and provides brief regeneration.
The mod is fully customizable - all features can be adjusted to your preferences through the configuration file.
