Oldschool Netherite - Return to Classic Crafting

This datapack fundamentally changes the netherite equipment acquisition system, returning to simpler and more intuitive crafting mechanics.

Now you can directly smelt Ancient Debris and Netherite Scrap into full Netherite Ingots using a regular furnace. This significantly simplifies the process of creating top-tier equipment.

Crafting Netherite Equipment

All netherite armor and tools are crafted using the same recipes as iron, gold, or diamond equivalents. No more need to use the smithing table for upgrades - simply gather the required components and create the finished equipment.

Changes to Upgrade System

The upgrade function in the smithing table is no longer available. However, you can recycle netherite upgrade templates into diamonds, making them useful even with the new crafting system.

Installation

For Datapacks

Copy the ZIP archive to the ".minecraft/saves/your_world_name/datapacks" folder, where "your_world_name" is the name of your game world.

For Mods

Place the JAR file in the folder specified by your mod loader.

Compatibility

Versions below 1.3b may cause unpredictable behavior when used with other datapacks that modify bastion loot. However, such datapacks are extremely rare. To fix this issue, delete the "data/minecraft/loot_tables" folder inside this datapack.
