OmniCut: Better Wood, Copper, and Stone Cutter

OmniCut is a Minecraft datapack that significantly expands the functionality of the standard stonecutter, making the process of creating various items more convenient and efficient.

Advanced Processing Capabilities

Wood Processing

The stonecutter can now process logs, turning them into various wooden items: stairs, slabs, fences, doors, and much more. The creation cost corresponds to standard workbench recipes, but logs can be converted into wooden blocks with a small discount.

Copper Structures

Copper blocks of various types can now be transformed into corresponding copper stairs and slabs, as well as create oxidized copper doors and trapdoors directly.

Deepslate Conversion

The stonecutter allows you to convert deepslate blocks into cobbled deepslate blocks, simplifying the construction process.

Recycling System

Stone Block Restoration

You can return processed blocks to their original form - for example, turn polished andesite stairs back into an andesite block. However, it's worth remembering that smooth and cracked stone variants can only be obtained using a furnace.

Wooden Item Recycling

Both the stonecutter and the workbench allow you to recycle wooden items: doors into planks, slabs into sticks, etc.

Slab Assembly into Blocks

On the workbench, you can assemble two slabs placed horizontally next to each other into a whole block.

Pricing Features

Unlike many similar modifications, this datapack does not aim to significantly reduce the cost of items compared to the vanilla version. Prices are set so that they are identical to workbench recipes (where possible), except for the standard discount on stairs.

• Stairs: 1 plank
• Wooden blocks: 1 log
• Boats: 4 planks
• Signs: 2 planks
• Fences: 4/3 planks

Bamboo Features

Due to bamboo producing only 2 planks per block, additional price adjustments are provided:

• Bamboo raft: 2 planks
• Bamboo fence: 1 plank
• Bamboo fence gate: 2 planks

Copper Structures

Copper doors and trapdoors also have a small discount:

• 5 copper doors: 1 copper block
• 4 copper trapdoors: 1 copper block

Important Features

• Recipes for creating chests and barrels from logs are not added to avoid disrupting price balance
• Horizontal placement is used for assembling slabs into blocks to avoid conflict with chiseled block recipes
• When recycling wooden items, it's impossible to get a log back
• Smooth and cracked stones can be recycled into the base block, but they can only be obtained through a furnace
• A stone button can be created in the stonecutter, but not a stone pressure plate
• Fences and gates are recycled only into sticks

Compatibility

The datapack fully supports version 1.21, including working with tuff, creating oxidized copper doors and trapdoors, as well as all wood types from update 1.21 (pale oak, bamboo, cherry, mangrove, and others).
