Once Upon A Stroll - Realistic Pathways in Minecraft
This mod brings amazing realism to the game - the ground beneath your feet gradually changes as you walk. Ordinary grass turns into packed earth, then into neat paths, gravel and stone bricks, creating natural trails where you walk most often.
Main Features
By default, the system works only for players, which helps avoid unnecessary performance load. However, you can configure behavior for mobs through configuration files. The settings allow adjustment of change probabilities and block transformation ranges.
In the demonstration video, the fullPaths function is shown, which creates permanent pathways. Without this option, grass simply turns into dirt without further changes.
Compatibility and Requirements
For Fabric users, Fabric API and Cloth Config are required. The mod can be freely added to modpacks without additional permissions.
Development Plans
The developer is considering adding customizable block erosion chains and a system where footwear type affects the nature of the paths formed.
The mod is inspired by the work of dancingfae and the autopath project, distributed under CCPL license.
