Opalescence
The Opalescence mod introduces opal into your game — a new type of stone that changes its color hue depending on its location in the game world.

Natural Generation
Opal naturally generates underground. It can be found uncommonly in the deepslate layer below Y=0, or even more rarely in the stone layer between Y=32 and Y=56. Some of the natural stone will bear crystals that can be crafted into regular opal blocks, providing a renewable source of this material.

Moonlit Opal
Exposing fully grown but still attached crystals on the budding block to moonlight gives them a new pearlescent hue (doesn't work with weak moonlight). These moonlit crystals can then be crafted into their respective opal variant.

Construction Variants
Both regular and moonlit opal can be crafted into various building forms. Simply place the stone in a stonecutter or smelt it and choose whichever variant you prefer :)

Unusual Shades
You can also create some "interesting" shades by placing a full composter under the budding opal block and letting it influence the grown crystals. Though honestly, why would you want to do that?
