Operation: Starcleave

The sky is torn apart with stars visible beyond the Rift. The surrounding world is bathed in rainbow hues, and the blocks have been warped by starlight.

... this mod is about Reaching for the Stars and the Unification of Heaven and Earth.

Overview

This mod functions similarly to a dimension mod, but without creating a separate dimension.

Instead, you can transform existing areas of your world into Celestial Landscapes by triggering a series of theoretically controlled quasi-natural disasters.

Marvel at incredible sights, meet your new neighbors, and plunder the terrain for valuable resources...

The heavens are torn open, beyond them stretches a Sea of Stars. The Rift emits rainbow light, and the trees turn pale pink. The air is filled with flying squid-like creatures.

... all from the convenience of your backyard!

Note: tearing open the heavens in your backyard or near anything valuable is not recommended.

Beginning: When the Heavens Broke

It all began with the Starcleaver Golem. Equipped with a drilling rig, jetpack, and built-in storage, it was supposed to be the perfect autonomous asteroid miner...

Starcleaver Golem flying upward

Alas, the Golem never reached its goal. As we watched it soar into Space, it encountered some kind of Resistance From Above...

A hole has formed in the sky. Stars are visible behind it, and rainbow glow emanates from below.

... and we could only watch as the Heavens tore apart.

The air filled with opalescent haze. Under this alien starlight, the land was Bleached.

The land has undergone Starbleaching. The grass has taken on a magnificent sickly yellow hue, and the trees have become bleached pink.

As the ground twisted beneath our feet, we saw the grass painted in a magnificent sickly yellow color, and the trees frozen in a lifeless sheen.

Our world was drenched in Rainbow Hues...

A large cavern has been carved into the ground. Dark green material lines run along its sides, and the base is speckled with patches of bright green plasma.

... and a hint of Nuclear Green.

Main Features

Operation: Starcleave adds the following key elements:

  • Starcleaver Golem: By placing a Netherite Pumpkin on a block of Crying Obsidian, you create a batch of Starcleaver Golems. Filling one with A Few Pieces of Gunpowder and lighting its fuse with Flint and Steel, it will soar towards the heavens...

  • Firmament Fractures: Formed by the drill of a Starcleaver Golem when it attempts to break through into Space. The Fracture will reveal a glimpse of the Starlit Sea Above.

  • Nucleosynthesis Seeds: Green seeds, spawned from Nuclear Stormclouds emitted after a Firmament Fracture is formed. Upon landing, they grow and burrow into the ground. Then they wait there... dormant.

  • Starbleaching: Areas beneath Fractured Firmament will be bathed in Rainbow Hues. Land engulfed in this starlight will gradually become Starbleached. This will transform the landscape and convert existing blocks into their Heavenly counterparts.

  • Subcaelic Torpedoes: Under the torn sky, mob spawns are replaced by Celestial Beings. Subcaelic Torpedoes resemble flying squids and spew Mysterious Rainbow Trails across the land. They follow their leader, the Subcaelic Dux.

  • Subcaelic Dux: The Dux is a neutral miniboss. When angered, it will send its Torpedoes at those who oppose it. Upon death, it will give you a... "reward"... if you see Green, Run.

And several items, blocks, and minor mechanics, derived from Fractures and their Consequences, such as:

  • Truly Stellar Farmland, though with a chance of turning your crops into Bismuth.
  • Bismuth Pegasus Armor to give your Horse Wings.
  • Magical rainbow fire that Burns Underwater (keep it away from the Green).
  • The ability to Collect Starbleach in a Cauldron and then coat your food in Starbleach (and also your Ender Pearls).
  • Blessed Cloth blocks - to break your fall.
  • A Very Comfortable Bed.
