Ore Stone Variants
The Ore Stone Variants mod fundamentally changes the approach to ore generation in Minecraft by adding unique variants for andesite, diorite, granite, and virtually any other blocks. All settings can be modified through the common configuration file.
Core Features
The mod automatically creates new textures and models, duplicates and modifies dropped items, crafting recipes, and world generation parameters. In terms of functionality, it rivals other ore generation mods.

Flexible Configuration
Ore Stone Variants stands out for its exceptional flexibility - almost all features can be finely tuned to suit your needs. Users should be prepared for a small learning curve when adding support for new ores or modifying existing parameters.
Block Imitation
Created ore variants can dynamically copy various features of background stone blocks and ores, including:
- Gravity
- Rotation data (version 6.0+)
- Particle effects
- Oxidation (version 6.0+)
- Mob spawning (version 6.0+)
- Various functions from other mods
Custom Ores
You can create additional variants by writing new presets that define light levels, texture paths, generation parameters, and much more.
These variants can be placed in almost any block by creating new entries in the common configuration file or by executing the command:
/osv put <new_ore> [<additional_ores>] in <stone_type>

Large Cluster Mode
Ore Stone Variants also provides the option (version 1.12 only) to generate variants in large, isolated clusters. Multiple clusters of the same type will generate in common areas. Simply enable this feature in the common configuration file.

Additional Information about Large Cluster Mode
- Enabling this feature in the configuration file generates unique probabilities for each ore based on their location for each world seed
- Ores most often generate near other ores of the same type
- Large ore veins (> 3) will be significantly larger but twice as rare in selected regions
- Small ore veins (< 4) will be much more frequent - up to 20 times more likely in selected chunks
- Expect large areas without resources and equally large areas with resource abundance
- Average generation time slightly decreases - initial world generation will take an additional 3-5 seconds
- This feature may be unbalanced - you might start a new world and find you have no coal at all, but already hundreds of iron
