Original Horse Armor Recipes

This simple data pack adds horse armor crafting recipes back to the game, which were removed by developers back in version 13w18a. Now you can craft iron, gold, and diamond horse armor yourself without relying on random chest finds.

Historical Background

In update 13w16a, horse armor first appeared in Minecraft with crafting capabilities. However, in version 13w18a, the crafting recipes were removed, and armor could only be found in chests of various structures: jungle and desert temples, dungeons, Nether fortresses, stronghold altar rooms, and village blacksmith buildings. Iron armor can also be found in mineshaft chests.

Simple Crafting Recipe

To craft any type of horse armor, you'll need 6 units of the corresponding material (iron, gold, or diamonds) and 1 block of wool of any color. Arrange the materials according to the pattern below.

Compatibility

Although the game may show a version incompatibility warning, the mod works correctly with Minecraft versions from 1.13 to 1.20 inclusive.
