Owl's Oddities
Owl's Oddities serves as an experimental testing ground for various gameplay concepts. Currently, the mod introduces special trinkets into the game - unique items with useful abilities.
Mod Features
The mod was created as a testing area for the developer's various ideas. If a particular concept proves interesting enough for further development, it may be separated into a standalone datapack. This means that features in this mod may change or be removed in future updates - either due to insufficient effectiveness or because they've been moved to a specialized project.
Available Trinkets
Trinkets are exclusive items crafted by throwing the required components onto a smithing table. The current version offers seven different trinkets:
- Magnet - crafted from a copper ingot and a bottle o' enchanting. When held in the off-hand, it attracts nearby items, experience orbs, and arrows to the player.
- Lock - made from an iron ingot and a copper ingot. Allows locking items in place, preventing other players from picking them up and their disappearance. Locked items can be moved using hoppers.
- Float Boat - crafted from an oak boat and a phantom membrane. When thrown on liquid, it places a boat unaffected by gravity.
- Frost Boat - made from an oak boat and a blue ice block. When placed on water, it creates a boat with a "frost walker" effect that forms frozen surfaces beneath it to increase movement speed.
- Silence Tag (バカを黙らせろ) - crafted from a name tag and an echo shard. When used on a mob, it permanently removes its ability to make sounds.
- Drizzle Tear - made from a prismarine shard and a prismarine crystal during rain. When held in the off-hand, it is consumed and summons rain.
- Thunder Bolt - crafted from a prismarine shard and a prismarine crystal during thunder. When held in the off-hand, it is consumed and summons a thunderstorm.
Graphical Enhancements
The mod uses custom textures for the added trinkets. While the resource pack is not a mandatory requirement, its use is highly recommended when you have Optifine, CIT Resewn, or other mods that support custom item textures.
