Pack List Features: A Smart Resource Pack List
Two Main Functions
Unlocked Server Packs
This feature is inspired by the Server Pack Unlocker mod. It allows you to move server resource packs within your selected pack list, giving you full control over their placement.
Pack Position Memory
The mod automatically remembers the relative positions of your resource packs. This means that even if you return to a server after several months, packs from that server will be correctly positioned among your own packs.
How Does It Work?
Instead of remembering a specific position for each pack, the mod saves an ordered index of all ever-used packs. This index is dynamically updated when you change the order of selected resource packs.
Additional Features
Functions Derived from Main Features:
- Resource packs (server and client) automatically return to their registered positions when joining a server or enabling a pack through the pack management screen
Independent Functions:
- Incompatible packs (after game updates) no longer get automatically disabled on launch
- If resource loading fails, the mod first attempts to reload without incompatible packs, and only disables all other packs if it fails again
- Fixed vanilla Minecraft bug MC-267868
Features Not Yet Implemented:
- Improved resource pack identification
- Configuration options
Development Status
Currently, the mod serves as a proof-of-concept prototype. It's already stable enough for use, but significant changes may come in future versions. Pack identification currently relies on pack descriptions, which isn't optimal - this aspect is planned for improvement in upcoming releases.
