Paranormal Pleistocene
Immerse yourself in a world where ancient nightmares come to life. This spooky modification brings a completely new location to your Minecraft world — the Primal Pits, inspired by the real La Brea Tar Pits. After studying Pleistocene fossils, a question arose: if humans have ghosts, why shouldn't spirits of extinct creatures appear? This is exactly what the mod implements — the biome is inhabited by the reanimated bodies of megafauna forever swallowed by the tar pits.
Denizens of the Mire
-
Bog Body:
☠️ A displeased undead humanoid, petrified in the peat deposits of the biome. Attacks players and villagers by hurling peat projectiles, although its accuracy leaves much to be desired — likely due to the absence of one eye.
- Direbeast:
🐺 Ferocious creatures that prowl in packs under the cover of darkness. Usually led by a sabretoothed direbeast — an enhanced version. Their prey includes players, villagers, and even some other inhabitants of the tar swamps.
- Taraouchs:
🐄 These beings were once the ancestors of cows but have long been extinct. Now their reborn bodies emerge at night, scaring off potential predators with powerful knockback.
- Necrosloth:
⚔️ The formidable Necrosloth — a rare miniboss of the biome. Expertly hides underground, waiting for unsuspecting players. But just disturb it...
Blocks and Items
-
Suspicious Tar:
💎 Found in the biome as rare inclusions. If dug up with a shovel, you might get lucky and uncover real treasures (why would anyone try to clean tar with a brush?!).
- Amber:
A precious material obtained from suspicious tar and dropped by biome enemies. Used for armor customization, giving it a unique look.
- Primal Armor Trim:
A rarest pattern for armor decoration, sometimes found in suspicious tar. Can be replicated using amber and peat.
- Relic:
Currently, this item serves merely as decoration, but it will surely come in handy in the future.
- Reaping Willows:
Willow trees occasionally growing in the biome. Their wood can be processed into planks. Work on creating doors is currently in progress!
