Mutant Varieties
Cave Mutants
Blind underground creatures adapted to complete darkness. Can reduce their glow for camouflage. Their skin is completely depigmented, and sensitive filaments grow on their back for hunting in darkness. Can blind victims and apply wither effect, but have no armor.
Mesa Mutants
Massive and resilient creatures capable of withstanding enormous damage. Inflict long-lasting negative effects.
Swamp Mutants
Poisonous creatures with prominent fangs and vegetation on their back. Their deadly venom causes poisoning and nausea. Have reduced health but increased speed and strength.
Jungle Mutants
Creatures with spikes and thagomizer tail. Their poison weakens and paralyzes the player. Balanced health, strength and speed stats.
Aquatic Mutants
Adapted to aquatic environment. Can drain victim's oxygen and pull them to the bottom. Incomplete forms transform into aquatic variants when in water.
Warped Mutants
Insect-like creatures capable of becoming invisible. Their poison combines glowing, slowness and levitation effects.
Ender Mutants
Some of the strongest variants with elongated body and large horns. Their poison blocks positive effects and disables hardened steel armor abilities.
Crimson Mutants
Fast and strong creatures with powerful poison combining fire and wither. Have low durability like netherrack.
Creature Types
Runners
Most common mutants appearing from pigs, sheep, cows, horses and donkeys. Have no special abilities except poison.
Walkers
Powerful mutants from piglins, pillagers, players and villagers. Compensate for weak poison with high knockback attacks.
Poisoners
Terrifying lizards with the strongest poison among all mutants. Appear from witches and spiders.
Enforcers
Tank-like monsters with enormous damage and thick armor that allows projectiles through. Appear from ravagers and hoglins.
Marauders
Specialize in destroying armor, dealing 40 times more damage to equipment. Appear from wolves and foxes.
Prowlers
Cat-like mutants waiting for victims in shadows. Grab prey with jaws and crush them.
Raptors
Pack hunters existing in alpha and beta versions. When alpha specimen is present, receive pack bonuses and additional effects.
Infectors
Rare mutants from endermen, infecting everything around and transforming biomes.
Incomplete Forms
Intermediate stages of infected creatures that later transform into full mutants depending on biome.
Weapons
Katana
Fast and destructive weapon made from hardened iron, mutant bones and biome ingots. Has 8 variants with special effects and stylish burning element.
Slayer
Massive slow swords with huge damage. Each of 8 variants has unique ability activated by right-clicking when wearing biome armor.
Battle Hook
Multifunctional weapon combining sword, pickaxe and axe. Deals moderate damage with poison effect.
Armor
Pathogen Armor
Affordable set made from incomplete hides and creature bones. Protects from pathogen disease, wither effect and gives speed bonus.
Scale Armor
6 variants (jungle, swamp, mesa, ender, crimson and warped) with different potion effects and +20% damage with weapons of same biome.
Mutant Steel Armor
Mod's strongest armor with jump and speed boost, immunity to poison of its biome and +35% damage with corresponding weapons.
Mechanics
Catalyst
For creating hardened chitin ingots, a catalyst is needed - non-craftable block found in altar-like structures. Place chitin horn, phantom membrane and netherite ingot in special slots and activate with lightning.
Pathogen
Black liquid infecting creatures upon contact. Infected mobs turn into incomplete forms - aggressive versions of themselves capable of infecting others. Over time they evolve into full mutants depending on biome.
Recommendations
It's recommended to install JEI (or similar recipe viewing mod) and reduce field of view effects since the mod actively uses speed and slowness effects.
