Permafrost - Eternal Frost in Minecraft

The Permafrost mod fundamentally changes the behavior of ice and snow layers in the game, making them resistant to melting from nearby light sources. Ice blocks and snow layers will now persist regardless of the lighting conditions around them.

Additionally, the mod enables snow layers and ice to form naturally in cold biomes even under conditions of excessive brightness that would normally prevent their appearance. As a result, cold regions become truly winter landscapes.

It's important to note that frosted ice created by Frost Walker boots maintains its standard behavior and is not affected by this modification.

Permafrost is a cross-platform solution - it can work on the client side for single-player worlds or on the server side for multiplayer worlds without requiring players to install the mod on their clients to connect.
