Sulfuric for Forge
This is a custom port of the Phosphor mod from CaffeineMC, adapted from the Fabric platform to Forge without official support from the original developers.
Enhanced Lighting Performance
Sulfuric specializes in optimizing one of Minecraft's most inefficient components—the lighting system. The mod works on both client and server, can be installed on servers without requiring installation on client computers. With Sulfuric, chunk generation time is reduced by half in some dimensions, and frame stuttering when moving through the world is significantly decreased.
This is an optimal solution for improving performance in both single-player and multiplayer servers, without making any changes to the original Minecraft gameplay.
What are the mod's limitations?
Although Sulfuric significantly improves the standard lighting implementation, it does not change the light model itself in the game. Simply put: the mod does not add new lighting features and does not change the visual representation of light (except for fixing bugs). This allows it to be used without installation on the opposite side client/server.
Optimizations are strictly aimed at improving the lighting system's operation, making the mod compact and self-sufficient. However, it does not completely eliminate all world generation issues or client lag, as lighting is only part of overall performance.
Compatibility
IMPORTANT: The mod IS NOT COMPATIBLE with Starlight.
Currently compatible with Sodium and Hydrogen Reforged.
Also works with the Crucial 2 modpack.
