Player Containers
This mod introduces various items and blocks that allow players to be captured and transported in specialized containers. Currently available features include:
Core Functionality
The standard player container serves as the basic option, giving captured players the choice to either spectate the individual holding the container or move their camera within a limited range around the container itself.
Container Variations
In addition to the basic version, three enhanced variants are accessible. Two of these can be obtained in survival mode, while the third is available only in creative mode, capable of holding three, five, or an unlimited number of players respectively.
Two special versions of the basic container are also included: one captures you yourself when activated, and the other takes on the appearance of the user's player model.
Additional Systems
A cage block functions as a container in item form, placing captured players inside the block when it's placed in the world.
The system features player essences that drop upon death. Currently these appear every time, but in future updates special weapons or items will be required to collect them.
Dispensers play a mechanical role, capable of ensnaring players into containers and releasing them when needed.
Technical Considerations
The latest version is designed for presentation at BlanketCon '25, which means some more unstable features have been temporarily disabled - particularly, capturing offline players and moving containers between dimensions.
Important note: to use this mod, you must either disable the playercontainer:restrictToBooth game rule or create an AreaLib area named playercontainer:booth!
AreaLib is currently required, but future updates will likely make this dependency optional.
