Working Details

General Information

The mod adds 2 blocks to the game:

Both blocks are containers with 9 storage slots. Together they function as a smaller one-way shulker box.

• Place a regular crate and put items in it like any container
• When you break the crate block, it drops as a sealed crate with saved items
• When placing and breaking a sealed crate, it gets destroyed and drops its contents

Sealed crates are inaccessible to the player (except creative mode). Dispensers and hoppers also don't interact with them.

Additional Features

• When breaking an empty crate, it simply drops again
• If you break a sealed crate with Silk Touch enchantment, it drops again
• Sealed crates and shulker boxes cannot be stored inside crates
• Both crate types can be stored in shulker boxes
• Regular crates stack up to 64, sealed ones don't stack
• Crafting recipe: 4 iron ingots and any 4 planks

Redstone Functionality

• Dispensers can place crate blocks
• Pistons extending into crate blocks break them, causing expected items to drop
• Comparators read crate fullness like other containers
• Hoppers and dispensers work with regular crates but don't interact with sealed ones

Decorative Options

Crates are directional blocks, so placing in different orientations changes the diagonal direction. Wood color is based on spruce.

Installation

To install, simply copy the downloaded jar file to the mods folder of your Fabric Minecraft with fabric api installed. Also compatible with Quilt and QFAPI.

The mod is required for both client and server.

To remove, delete the jar file from the mods folder. Before removal, destroy all existing crates in the world to avoid errors when the game tries to load missing objects.
