Potion Core - Potion Expansion for Minecraft

Tired of the standard potion effects in Minecraft? Want to add new interesting possibilities to the game? This mod offers a huge collection of unique potion effects that will radically change your gaming experience!

This mod serves as a foundation for adding new potion effects and contains many ready-made options that can be used in other mods. All potions are available through creative mode, as this is a basic library.

New Potion Effects

Combat Effects

True Shot - increases damage from arrows and other projectiles, similar to how strength increases melee damage. Klutz - decreases projectile damage, like weakness decreases melee damage. Magic Focus - enhances magical damage. Magic Inhibition - weakens magical damage. Recoil - returns a portion of received damage to the attacker. Burst - creates an explosion around you that doesn't harm you and doesn't destroy blocks. Explosion - causes an explosion at your location. Combustion - sets you on fire. Lightning - strikes you with lightning. Launch - throws you up into the air.

Defensive Effects

Vulnerability - increases damage received from all sources. Broken Armor - reduces your armor protection. Iron Skin - increases armor protection. Diamond Skin - increases armor toughness. Magic Shielding - protects from magical damage that normally ignores armor. Solid Core - increases knockback resistance. Revival - when dying with this effect, you revive with 2 hearts per level.

Utility Effects

Slowfall - slows falling and prevents fall damage. Step Up - allows stepping over full blocks. Reach - increases interaction distance. Climbing - allows climbing walls like spiders. Corrosion - damages armor and held item (except for gold items). Repairing - repairs armor and held item. Flight - allows flying like in creative mode. Random Teleport - teleports to a random nearby location. Surface Teleport - moves to the top surface block. Spawn Teleport - teleports to spawn point after 10 seconds of standing still. Love - causes breedable entities to mate. Antidote - protects from poison damage. Purity - protects from wither damage.

Miscellaneous Effects

Drowning - allows breathing only underwater. Weight - reduces jump height, preventing jumping up a full block. Disorganization - shuffles inventory contents. Perplexity - inverts controls (forward becomes backward, etc.). Extension - prevents another potion's duration from decreasing. Chance - gives a random potion effect (can be good or bad). Bless - gives a random positive effect. Curse - gives a random negative effect. Cure - removes all negative effects. Dispel - removes all positive effects. Inversion - reverses all effects to their opposites. Potion Sickness - disabled by default, has a chance to give a random bad effect.

Changes to Standard Potions

Blindness - fog gets closer with each level, also affects mobs who won't attack from a distance. Jump Boost - now you can control jump height by holding spacebar.

New Attributes

Projectile Damage

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.projectileDamage
  • Default: 1
  • Range: 0 - 2048
  • Function: determines damage from bows, thrown items, etc.

Magic Damage

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.magicDamage
  • Default: 1
  • Range: 0 - 2048
  • Function: determines magical damage.

Jump Height

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.jumpHeight
  • Default: 1
  • Range: 0 - 2048
  • Function: determines jump height.

Dig Speed

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.digSpeed
  • Default: 1
  • Range: 8.1E-4 - 2048
  • Function: determines resource gathering speed.

Step Height

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.stepHeight
  • Default: 0.6
  • Range: 0 - 256
  • Function: determines step height.

Damage Resistance

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.damageResistance
  • Default: 1
  • Range: -2048 - 2
  • Function: determines damage resistance.

Magic Shielding

  • Attribute Name: potioncore.magicShielding
  • Default: 0
  • Range: 0 - 20
  • Function: protects from magical damage.

New Mechanic - Potion Sickness

This option limits the number of beneficial potions that can be drunk simultaneously. After reaching a certain number of positive effects, potion sickness appears, which can randomly give negative effects. This feature is disabled by default and configurable in the configuration file.

Most settings can be modified through configuration files. The mod is compatible with modpacks provided authorship is acknowledged.

For developers: the mod can be used as a library by adding the appropriate files to the libs folder of your development environment.
