PPeTP
Have you ever thought about how many beloved pets have been lost during Minecraft explorations? Have you found a cute wolf, cat, or parrot, continued your journey, and then realized your loyal companion remained far behind?
This mod solves exactly this problem! In the standard version of the game, tamed animals stop following you when they are outside the simulation area. PPeTP ensures your pet always stays with you, regardless of the distance. Now you will never accidentally lose your faithful friend!
Functionality Features
No interference with standard behavior. If your pet is sitting or leashed, its position won't change. The mod takes into account standard teleportation conditions and works only when necessary.
Smart attachment to player. The main reason for pet loss is the absence of a safe teleportation spot. This solution temporarily attaches the animal to player data until you reach a safe location. For the owner, this appears as the pet smoothly teleporting thousands of blocks to follow them.
Protection from sudden chunk unloading. In addition to standard distance checks, this modification ensures pet teleportation when chunks are suddenly unloaded, which is especially relevant during instant player movement (via commands, ender pearls) or in case of death.
Teleportation Guide
Cross-dimensional travel
By default, the standard game behavior applies: teleportation between dimensions is impossible. If you undertake a long journey through the Nether, your pet can teleport to you only after returning to the Overworld.
You can change this rule with the command:
/gamerule petTeleportCrossDimension
When set to true, the pet can move between dimensions following you. When false, animals follow standard logic and can change dimensions only by passing through a portal themselves. Be careful: this setting may cause unexpected behavior if the pet accidentally approaches a portal.
Compatibility
The solution works with modded pets! If they use Minecraft's standard system for tameable entities, compatibility is guaranteed.
