pquality - Item Quality System

The pquality modification implements a progressive item quality system in Minecraft, similar to those found in Factorio: Space Age or Stardew Valley.

How Quality Affects Items

Items with enhanced quality receive significant characteristic improvements:

• Increased durability of tools and weapons
• Enhanced weapon damage
• Accelerated resource mining speed with tools
• Improved armor protection
• Nutritious food restoring more hunger
• Extended potion effect duration
• Efficient fuel with extended burning time
• Increased bundle capacity
• Enhanced fireworks for elytra flight
• Efficient anvil repairs
• Generous villagers providing more items and experience

Methods for Obtaining Quality Items

There are several ways to obtain items with improved quality:

• The "Enhancement" enchantment increases the chance of quality item drops when mining blocks, killing mobs, and fishing. The probability depends on the player's experience level.
• Combining multiple quality items during crafting, brewing, smelting, or smithing allows creating products with enhanced quality.
• Example command for adding quality to a held item: \contaminate @s pquality:bronze_quality

Compatibility with Other Mods

The mod is fully compatible with Create:

• Quality mechanisms have reduced impact on the stress system
• Quality is preserved when using most Create recipes

All mod features can be configured through datapacks or Forge configuration files, allowing disabling of any unwanted elements. An option is also available to display quality icons only when holding the Shift key.

While standard quality levels include Bronze (+10%), Silver (+25%), Gold (+50%), Diamond (+75%), and Netherite (+100%), the system is oriented toward modpack creators who can define custom quality levels through datapacks.
