Progressive Core

Progressive Core is a comprehensive Minecraft modification that introduces a progressive resource system into the game, including valuable ores, alloys, tools, weapons, armor, accessories, and various machinery. All mod elements are organized into tiers, where obtaining materials from the next tier requires using resources from the previous one.

Tier System

The mod implements a clear material progression:

  • Tier 0: Wood
  • Tier 1: Stone, Flint, Leather
  • Tier 2: Copper, Tin, Iron
  • Tier 3: Bronze, Tungsten
  • Tier 4: Steel, Obsidian
  • Tier 5: Hellsteel
  • Tier 6: Titanium
  • Tier 7: Mithril, Orichalcum, Adamantite

Smelters

The mod features four tiers of smelters: Basic (bricks), Advanced (bronze), Infernal (hellsteel), and Titan (titanium). Each subsequent tier improves upon the previous one - adds new recipes, increases output stack size, and reduces smelting time by 25%.

Smelters have 6 input slots, 1 fuel slot, and 1 output slot. They can be used as regular furnaces for smelting vanilla ores and Progressive Core materials.

Gem Polisher

This is a mid to late-game machine used in combination with a titan crusher. To polish gems and gem blocks, right-click to place the item in the center of the polisher, then right-click with a titan crusher. Each operation consumes 10 durability from the crusher.

Eye of Reality

A late/end-game machine that highlights nearby tier 7 ores within a 24-block radius. When activated, the block glows and all suitable ores become visible as long as the player looks directly at the Eye.

However, activation has a side effect - Spirits begin to spawn around the Eye, attacking the player with charge attacks, dealing significant damage, and applying blindness for 5 seconds. It's recommended to use a full set of titanium armor and weapons when operating this device.

Ores, Materials, Tools & Armor

Wood Armor

Allows crafting armor from logs. Not durable and provides minimal protection, but better than nothing.

Flint Tools

Flint tools with stone tool statistics but slightly higher durability.

Gems

Added 6 new gems with corresponding ores:

  • Ruby: Red gem, found in medium/lush biomes
  • Sapphire: Blue gem, appears in water-rich biomes
  • Amethyst: Purple gem, generates in cold and snowy biomes
  • Topaz: Yellow gem, found in cold but non-snowy biomes
  • Opal: Orange gem, appears in very warm biomes
  • Malachite: Turquoise gem, generates in high-humidity biomes

Gem ores spawn between levels 4 and 32 in small veins, similar to emeralds. There are also gem stashes that drop 1-2 gems when broken.

Gem variety Gem blocks

Copper

Copper ore commonly appears between levels 45 and 96. Copper tools are slightly better than stone tools, and armor surpasses leather.

Copper items

Tin

Rarer ore than copper, appears between levels 30 and 63. Not used for tools and armor but necessary for creating alloys.

Tin ore

Bronze

The first alloy in the mod, created by smelting copper and tin (3 to 1) in a basic smelter or better. Bronze tools and armor are comparable to iron but have lower durability.

Bronze items

Tungsten

Uncommon ore, appears between levels 0 and 30. Like tin, not used for tools and armor but needed for alloys.

Tungsten ore

Steel

Created by smelting iron, tungsten, and any type of coal (1 to 1 to 1) in an advanced smelter. Steel tools and armor are slightly better than iron, have mining level 4 (higher than diamond), necessary for mining tier 5 ores. Tools increase knockback, while armor provides a chance to avoid knockback when hit.

Steel items

Hellsteel/Netherite

Netherite ore is found only in the Nether between levels 7 and 117. Requires a steel pickaxe (level 4) or better to mine. Drops up to 2 netherite chunks, which are smelted with steel and blaze powder (2 to 1 to 1) in an advanced smelter to obtain hellsteel.

Hellsteel tools are as strong as diamond but have lower durability. They ignite targets and automatically smelt mined blocks. Each armor piece provides +25% fire and lava protection, making the player immune when wearing the full set. The full set also sets attacking entities on fire for 6 seconds and leaves a blazing trail.

Hellsteel items

Luminium

Common Nether ore, found between levels 7 and 117 in large veins. Not used for tools and armor but is an excellent fuel source (smelts 32 items in a regular furnace) and can replace coal in many recipes.

Luminium ore

Obsidian

Obsidian ingots are created by smelting 1 hellsteel ingot, 1 diamond or ender pearl, and 3 obsidian in an infernal smelter or better.

Obsidian tools and armor are stat-wise similar to steel (without knockback effects) but have infinite durability. Cannot be enchanted.

Obsidian items

Titanium

Titanium ore is found in both the Overworld and Nether. In the Overworld, it's roughly as rare as diamond, appearing between levels 0 and 16. In the Nether - rarely between levels 7 and 117. Requires a hellsteel pickaxe or better to mine, drops up to 2 titanium chunks. 3 titanium chunks are smelted with a diamond or ender pearl in an infernal smelter to obtain titanium ingots.

Titanium is a durable material for tools and armor, significantly surpassing diamond. Tools have mining level 6 and increased reach distance by 1 block. Holding right-click activates titan strength for 10 seconds (consumes 10 tool durability) - triple damage, increased knockback, and breaking blocks in a 3×3×3 area.

Each armor piece provides +5% movement speed, +5% attack damage, and a chance to avoid knockback. The full set grants titan dodge for 10 seconds after hitting an entity - complete avoidance of damage and knockback from one enemy attack, then requires 3 seconds cooldown. Also leaves a trail of smoke particles.

Titanium items

Mithril/Orichalcum/Adamantite

The three rarest and strongest ores in the mod, approximately 10 times rarer than diamond, appear in the Overworld between levels 0 and 24. The Eye of Reality is strongly recommended for finding them. Require mining level 6 (titanium pickaxe). Mining drops 1-2 chunks, 4 chunks are smelted with 1 reality crystal in a titan smelter to obtain ingots.

All three metals are used to create powerful tools and armor that surpass titanium with unique effects.

Swords fire projectiles when swung:

  • Mithril: Three accurate projectiles with delay, each deals 50% sword damage
  • Orichalcum: Burst of 5 inaccurate projectiles in shotgun fashion, each deals 75% sword damage
  • Adamantite: One slow-moving large projectile, deals full sword damage

Tools can be switched between 1×1 and 3×3 modes (right-click). In 3×3 mode, they mine blocks in a 3×3 area, consuming durability for each block.

Armor has various bonuses:

  • Mithril: +10% movement speed, +10% attack speed, +10% knockback resistance, +5% attack damage, +2 health per piece; full set increases jump height and distance, negates fall damage
  • Orichalcum: +15% attack damage, +10% knockback resistance, +5% movement speed, +5% attack speed, +2 health per piece; full set recovers 1/10 of damage dealt and increases damage by 25% per hit on the same target (up to +250%)
  • Adamantite: +25% knockback resistance per piece (immunity in full set), +4 health, +5% attack damage, +5% attack speed; full set recovers 1 health per second and ignores half-heart damage

Accessories

Rings

Three ring tiers available, upgraded directly from the previous one:

  • Gold: Made with 4 gold ingots, holds 1 power
  • Obsidian: Made with a gold ring and 4 obsidian ingots, holds 2 powers
  • Astral: Made with an obsidian ring and 4 nether star shards, holds 3 powers

To charge a ring, combine it with a cut gem, equip it, and collect experience. Charging is doubled in the gem's spawning biome. When sufficient experience is accumulated, the ring gains a random power or increases its level. All powers provide beneficial effects to the wearer.

Available powers:

  • Acceleration: +5% movement speed per level
  • Coldness: Chance to slow and weaken attackers
  • Corruption: Chance to wither attackers
  • Fireproofness: +15% fire and lava damage resistance per level
  • Lifesteal: Chance to heal half a heart on attack
  • Potency: +5% attack damage per level
  • Reflexion: +5% attack speed per level
  • Smoothness: +15% fall damage resistance per level
  • Vitality: +2 health per level
  • Wisdom: +20% experience dropped per level
