project-1012027
The project-1012027 mod brings content from the Tricky Trials update to Neo/Forge version 1.20.1, reimagining the Trials Chambers according to the author's own vision. The project implements key game mechanics, but unlike the original content, it doesn't include the Breeze and Armadillo.
Trials Chambers Structure
Each underground structure generates with a central chamber automatically connected to an entrance/exit hallway and a spacious Hallway Chamber. At the end of the large corridor space lies a Boss Room where players encounter one of three adversaries: Evoker, Illusioner, or Iceologer (from Friends & Foes mod). These bosses are accompanied by special trial spawners for illagers. There's also a small chance for the Wroughtnaut boss from Mowzie's Mobs mod to appear.
Generation and Mechanics
The main rooms have fixed structure, however, all side paths are completely randomized. They generate from an extensive collection of rooms connected by hallways. The total number of additional chambers can range from 6 to over 20, depending on world generation algorithms.
Trials Chambers spawn underground in the overworld starting at deepslate level. Trial Spawners and Trial Vaults function as intended: spawners are randomly selected based on room type from available option pools. Difficulty can be further increased by using the Bad Omen effect.
Loot and Items
Vaults provide 3 to 6 rewards from the loot table. Main valuable items include new cosmetic elements and the Heavy Core, which, as expected, is used to craft the Mace weapon. All new tuff and copper variations have become craftable, including a polished tuff version of the Copper Bulb. This item is crafted first, then transformed into standard Copper Bulbs by adding copper ingots.
Additional Changes
The mod includes numerous other enhancements: raid captains now drop Ominous Bottles instead of directly applying the Bad Omen effect, completely new potion effects have been added, along with various gameplay mechanics.
Important note: mod versions below 2.0.0 refer to the old "Trials Towers" concept - another backport mod where small combat towers were created instead of massive Trials Chambers. These early versions contain outdated block selection and programming code compared to the current version.
