Emerald Lasso - Customizable Entity Capture Tool

About the Modification

This mod offers a modern implementation of the Golden Lasso concept from Extra Utils 2 and similar entity capture tools. The author created this modification out of love for programming and the desire to have full control over functionality without depending on the presence of other similar mods in packs.

Important Information

Some users report issues with entity capture when adding the mod to an existing world. While the author is investigating this problem, it's recommended to test the mod in a new world before installing it in your main save.

Settings and Capabilities

Main Configuration Parameters

  • num_entities_allowed - determines the number of entities that can be stored in the lasso (from 1 to 5, default 1)
  • has_durability - enables/disables the tool durability system (enabled by default, durability 250)
  • allow_all_entities - allows capturing all entities or only those from the whitelist (all allowed by default)
  • entity_health_system - system requiring entity health reduction before capture
  • min_entity_health - minimum health level for capture (from 1.5 to 500)

Whitelist Systems

  • vanilla_entity_whitelist - list of allowed vanilla entities
  • mod_entity_whitelist - list of allowed entities from mods

To add entities, use the resource location format (for example: "minecraft:cow", "minecraft:wandering_trader").

Usage

To capture an entity, left-click on it with the activated lasso. To release - right-click on a block. With durability enabled, the tool loses durability when releasing the mob. The item interface displays information about the captured entity.

Modpack Compatibility

The mod can be freely used in any modpacks without prior author permission.
