Proximity
A modification that transforms Minecraft's standard chat system by making communication dependent on the distance between players. Now your messages will only be audible to those nearby, creating a more realistic interaction atmosphere.
Key Features:
- Customizable communication range - you can set the maximum distance at which players can hear each other
- Commands with different characteristics:
- Chat commands (/me, /say) have their own customizable distance
- Muffled conversation for nearest neighbors via /mumble or /m commands
- Ability to shout to everyone via /shout or /s commands
Easy Configuration
All parameters are easily configured through game rules (gamerules), making configuration intuitive and straightforward.
Integration Capabilities
Proximity offers an API for mod developers to integrate with the spatial chat system:
- Local management of audio audibility between players
- Customization of calculated positions for distance determination
- Ability to create specific audibility conditions
Character Attributes
The modification introduces two new characteristics:
- Hearing distance - increases the distance at which a player can hear messages
- Speaking distance - increases the audibility zone of one's own messages
