Pseudorygium

Pseudorygium (from Latin Pseudoryx) is a modification that expands the biological diversity of the Minecraft world by adding numerous animals and other creatures from around the globe to enhance gameplay realism.

Biomes

The mod introduces several unique biomes, each with its specific fauna:

• Steppe — temperate biome
• Tundra — cold arctic zone
• Willow Swamp — wetland area with abundant vegetation
• Hornbeam Forest — forest zone with characteristic trees
• Steppe-Tundra — ancient biome, the only habitat for mammoths
• Australian Outback — unique ecosystem with local inhabitants

Mobs

The modification includes an enormous variety of animals:

Forest and Plain Inhabitants: Woodpecker, Hedgehog, Moose, Tanuki, Gopher, Badger, Marten, and five species of small birds: Titmouse, Sparrow, Robin, Bullfinch, and Chaffinch.

Savannas and Steppes: Zebra, Lion, Cheetah, Gazelle, Giraffe, Ostrich, Aardvark, Buffalo, Rhinoceros, Secretary Bird.

Cold Regions: Lemming, Reindeer, Arctic Fox, Emperor Penguin, Walrus, Seal.

Tropical Forests: Saola, Okapi, Sloth, Red Panda, Orangutan, Chimpanzee, Bellbird, Binturong, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey.

Rare and Unique Species: Tiger (Siberian), Leopard (Amur), Snow Leopard, Mammoth (found only in steppe-tundra), Venus Flytrap (carnivorous plant).

Aquatic Inhabitants: Crab, Gharial, Porpoise, Barreleye (first fish in the mod).

Australian Fauna: Kangaroo, Echidna, Platypus, Night Parrot.

Blocks and Items

Fuel and Resources:

• Peat — used as fuel
• Permafrost — previously the only way to obtain mammoths
• Lemming Hide — material for crafting

Food Products:

• Meat (venison, chevon, pheasant) — can be cooked
• Oranges — food for capybaras
• Hazelnuts — food for squirrels
• Banana — item for bartering with chimpanzees
• Peeled Banana — used for compost

Tools: Crab Claw — unique working tool

Wood

Three new tree types added (without boats and signs):

• Hornbeam
• Willow
• Linden

Future Updates

Additional primates are in development, including lemurs, mouse lemur, tarsier, and gorilla.

Gameplay Features

Chimpanzees have a unique trading system — when interacting with the player, they take an apple from the main hand and can provide various valuable items, including bananas, bamboo, and even golden apples with different drop probabilities.

The mod focuses on realistic representation of animals in their natural habitats, avoiding fantasy creatures and emphasizing ecological accuracy of each added species.
