Psio

The Psio mod offers a simple yet effective approach to balancing Psi - spells now require real resources, not just time. Instead of passive PSI energy regeneration, players must carry special storage items from which they can draw energy for magic.

Main Changes

Two important additions make gameplay more balanced. First, when gaining experience, part of it is automatically converted to PSI if your energy reserves aren't full. Second, all Psi capabilities become available immediately upon entering the game. Both these features can be configured or disabled in the configuration file.

For comfortable gameplay, access to silver ingots and silver products is recommended - otherwise, recipes will use iron and corresponding metal components.

PSI Storage Items

When a player casts a spell, its cost is deducted from the PSI bar. After the regeneration cooldown ends, Psio automatically searches the player's inventory for PSI storage items and uses them to replenish energy.

There are two types of storage items: single-use and rechargeable. Single-use items break after use, while rechargeable ones can be used multiple times.

• PSI Stimulator - single-use energy source that breaks after complete depletion
• PSI Cell - rechargeable storage available in four tiers with different capacities
• Star of PSI - creative item with infinite energy supply

PSI Generation

Several devices allow generating PSI and recharging cells. Most of them work in conjunction with other mods, so installing at least one compatible mod is recommended.

• Flux Resonator - converts Forge Energy to PSI (Mekanism recommended for proper recipe functionality)
• Psionic Lensing Pedestal - uses mana from Botania
• Cold Light Projector - operates on liquid starlight from Astral Sorcery
• Sanguine Psiogenesis Device - consumes life essence from Blood Magic
• Psionic Induction Cage - converts embers from Embers
• Potentia Invertor - uses potentia essentia from Thaumcraft

Spell Additions

Psio adds one new spell element:

• Trick: Draw Energy - allows drawing PSI from storage blocks in the world, and also recharges storage items in the caster's inventory

Additional Features

With Baubles installed, PSI cells become accessories, saving space in the main inventory.
