Pumpkin Potions
A mod created specifically for SpookyJam 2020 opens up unique possibilities for brewing complex potions inside a pumpkin. In addition to standard potion effects, the mod introduces 10 completely new magical effects.
Crafting the Pumpkin Cauldron
To begin your alchemical journey, you need to craft a special pumpkin cauldron. After creation, place it and fill it with water using a bucket.
Potion Brewing Process
The foundation of any potion is nether warts. After adding them, you can throw an effect item into the cauldron. Then, almost any vanilla item or special blocks will allow you to modify this effect. Each item affects different magical effects in its own way.
List of effects and corresponding items:
- Speed: Sugar

Focuses for Potion Modification
Special focus items can radically change the properties of the entire potion. They can be added at any point in the brewing process:
- Redstone: Increases duration at the cost of effect strength
- Glowstone: Enhances effect at the cost of duration
- Gunpowder: Turns the potion into a splash potion
- Dragon's Breath: Creates a lingering potion (requires gunpowder to be already in the potion)
Important Features
- The more items between an effect and a modifier, the weaker the modifier's influence
- More valuable items have a stronger effect on the potion
- Each item can only be used once, so carefully plan the addition sequence
Recipe Preservation
When the potion is ready, use an empty bottle to extract it. If you want to save the recipe for future brewing, use a book on the cauldron immediately after brewing. Then place a lectern nearby, put the recipe book on it, and fill the cauldron with water. Now you'll always see which item to add next.
