Rabbits Simply Redone
This datapack aims to transform rabbits into proper mobs without making radical changes to their behavior. Although rabbits deserve a complete rethinking, this package offers a temporary solution for the most obvious problems.
With this datapack, rabbits gain improved survivability thanks to near-complete immunity to fall damage, as well as increased health. Additionally, rabbits have become larger, approaching their size from version 1.8, and their litter now consists of 2-3 babies instead of one, which encourages breeding and better reflects the real behavior of these animals.
Main Changes:
- Increased rabbit size (1.35 times the base size)
- Almost complete protection from fall damage (can withstand falls from heights of about 30 blocks)
- Other rabbit characteristic modifications
- Breeding always produces at least 2 babies with a 1/3 chance of a third appearing (activated only when a player is within 10 blocks to prevent overpopulation and lag)
- Changes to drop tables, including more stable rabbit hide drops
- Increased value of rabbit hides as a source of leather and string
Planned but Unavailable Features:
- Making dandelions more beneficial for rabbits than carrots (possibly in version 1.1)
- Adding the ability to create luck potions from rabbit feet (if custom potion brewing appears in datapacks)
- Peaceful ways to use rabbits (e.g., passive production)
- Adding home blocks for rabbit shelter (similar to Don't Starve game)
