Random Crits
The Random Crits mod completely reworks the critical hit system in Minecraft. Instead of predictable crits from jumping, critical hits now occur randomly, making the combat system more interesting and unpredictable.
Main Features
By default, the base critical hit chance is 12%, but you can increase it through several methods. All parameters are fully customizable to suit your playstyle.
Effects
- Luck: The Luck effect now increases critical hit chance by 6%
- Adrenaline: A new effect that can activate when taking damage while at 3.5 hearts of health or less. Adrenaline temporarily increases critical hit chance by 20%
Enchantments
The mod adds several new enchantments for weapons and armor:
- Starstruck: An enchantment for weapons with 2 levels, each level increases crit chance by 6%
- Vitality: An enchantment for weapons with 3 levels, giving a small chance to gain the Absorption effect when landing a critical hit. Higher levels increase the activation probability
- Safeguard: An enchantment for chestplates with 1 level, reducing incoming critical damage multiplier by 25%
Compatibility
Random Crits integrates well with other mods:
- Compatible with Enchantment Descriptions for displaying enchantment descriptions
- Modifies the Absolute enchantment from Simple Enchantments, increasing critical damage multiplier from 150% to 175%
- All daggers, knives, scimitars, and sai from other mods receive increased critical hit chance
For advanced users, an example datapack is available that allows modifying critical hit chance for specific items.
