Rats Mod - World of Rats in Minecraft

The Rats mod is entirely dedicated to rats - small creatures that spawn in the Overworld at night, similar to other hostile mobs. These creatures are usually afraid of players and will run away when they see them, but they can become a real problem. Rats are capable of chewing through wooden walls, stealing food and seeds from chests, and destroying crops. Additionally, they can squeeze through fences and open doors!
To protect against rodent infestations, you can use rat traps and other traditional methods such as stone houses and cats.

Cheese and Taming
A crucial element of the mod is cheese. It can be made by pouring milk into a cauldron. Besides being a good food source, cheese is used for taming wild rats and numerous crafting recipes related to rats. The cheese-making process is easily configurable, just like rat behavior, and can be disabled or replaced with cheese from other mods.
To tame a wild rat, you first need to corner it, then throw cheese on the ground near it. After 10-15 feedings, the well-fed rodent will begin to trust the player - the rat is tamed!

Rat Management
The inventory of tamed rats can be opened by interacting with them, and by pressing Shift+RMB, you can place a rat on your head or shoulder. In the rat management interface, you can view information about your pet, access the item in its paws, equip a helmet or banner, manage upgrades, and give various commands.
There are numerous upgrades for rats, ranging from simple health and speed increases to significant attack and armor enhancements, as well as new abilities such as cooking food and carrying entire stacks of items. Most upgrades are created from cheese and diamonds.
Available commands for rats include:
- Wander - The rat will move around freely like a wild one
- Stay Here - The rat will sit down and not move
- Follow Me - The rat will follow its owner
- Hunt Mobs - With a mob filter upgrade, the rat will search for and kill specific creatures
- Gather Items - The rat will search for dropped items in the area
- Harvest - The rat will look for mature crops to collect
- Transport Items - The rat can transport items between marked inventories
- Patrol - The rat will patrol a set route and attack encountered monsters
Rat Breeding
For breeding rats, you first need to create a cage. Players can place rats in cages by putting them on their shoulder and then interacting with the cage. Rats of opposite genders in the same cage will breed if a Rat Breeding Lantern is placed in the cage. The offspring may get new color mutations not present in their parents. Cages can also be decorated with various decorative elements.

Automatic Crafting
One of the most useful features is automatic crafting. To start the process, you need to give a tamed rat a crafting upgrade and place it on the Rat Crafting Table. For automatic crafting to work, it's enough to place items in the crafting grid and necessary materials in the input slots.

Legends and Rumors
Diseased Rats
You need to be careful with wild rats, as some of them may carry deadly diseases. These rats have bright red glowing eyes and dirty green fur. They are hostile when they see the player and make aggressive sounds.
The Pied Piper
Rumors tell of a rare evil villager who has mastered the art of controlling rats with his flute. This Pied Piper controls a small group of ferocious rats under the influence of a musical spell, which he uses to attack enemies. Everyone who travels through overgrown forests and other magical biomes should be cautious.
The Sunken World: Ratlantis
An even wilder rumor tells of a distant land called Ratlantis. This hostile territory, full of legendary dangerous creatures, is supposedly accessible by obtaining a magical token - an extremely rare drop from a rat. Those who tell stories about Ratlantis return with knowledge of incredibly powerful rat upgrades. But this is, of course, just a legend... or is it?
