Red Bits (redstone)
RedBits mod expands redstone capabilities in Minecraft by adding new components and improving existing vanilla mechanics. The main goal of the mod is to enable creation of more compact and faster redstone constructions.
This mod works only on Fabric and requires Fabric API installation. Porting to Forge is not planned.
Main Features
- Shaded Redstone Lamp — energy-efficient version of standard lamp without light emission, ideal for displays
- 8 New Logic Elements — detector, switcher, inverter, latch, timer, projector, bridge, and two-way repeater
- Redstone Emitter — generates comparator signal, replacing the use of cauldrons and composters in circuits
- Inverted Redstone Torch — torch that doesn't invert the signal
- Large Buttons — buttons with enlarged interaction area
- 4 New Pressure Plate Types — activated by different entity types
- Colored Redstone Lamps — lamp color depends on signal strength
- Sight Sensors — trigger when looked at
Starting from version 1.12.0, the mod includes a built-in guidebook available when Patchouli Fabric is present. It can be found in the "miscellaneous" creative tab or in naturally generated chests in stronghold libraries, cartographer village houses, and in the "Bonus Chest".
Mechanics Changes
- Redstone torch burnout disabled (configurable)
- Jukeboxes can now be activated with redstone (configurable, replaces vanilla 1.20 feature)
- Droppers and Hoppers can interact with Jukeboxes and Campfires (configurable)
