Redstone Control

This mod is a complete overhaul of my previous project Automated Redstone, where I aimed to improve all aspects with a completely new wire system and fully updated design.

Main Features

The redstone signal transmission system between sockets and devices uses point-to-point wire connections, similar to the approach from Immersive Engineering. Signals are not limited to the standard 0-15 range, opening up new possibilities for complex circuits.

Connections are no longer tied to the six sides of blocks - no more complicated side configurations! Instead of window-based interfaces, direct in-world interaction with ports and control elements is used.

Unique Functions

• Inter-dimensional wireless signal transmission
• Logic gates, analog adders/subtractors, counters and other components
• Wire anchors and signal name tags for more organized and aesthetic cable routing
• Compact circuits programmed using block diagrams in a data flow oriented style

The new system eliminates the unintuitive sequential gate execution that was in Automated Redstone and provides better performance through direct compilation to JVM bytecode instead of inefficient emulation.

Additional Devices

• Remote comparator and sensors for tracking energy, fluids, items, plant growth and other parameters
• Various signal control and display devices: 7-segment displays, lamps, analog pointer indicators, sliders, buttons - everything you need for your mad scientist laboratory
• Return of valves from Automated Redstone
• Various machines like block breaker/placer for interacting with blocks through a powerful remote control system

Technical Features

The block selection device allows other devices to interact with blocks by coordinates within a marked cubic area. This opens up numerous possibilities - from quarries to 3D printing your mega-base.

Compatibility

The mod is designed for Minecraft 1.12.2 and will not be ported to newer versions. For version 1.16.5, Redstone Control 2 is available.

The mod uses a different identifier than Automated Redstone, so you can install both mods simultaneously if you need certain features from A.R. that are not yet implemented here.

Installation

Set up Minecraft with Forge, download this mod and the required version of CD4017BE_lib, then place both .jar files in the mods folder of your Minecraft Forge installation.

Note: not all versions of CD4017BE_lib will work. The changelog description will indicate which version is required (in the Dependencies section). If you also want to install some of my other mods and they require a different version, use the newer one.
