Reg's Hammers Mod
Key Features
Remember the popular Ex Nihilo Sequentia mod and its main tool — the hammer? That's exactly what this modification recreates! With this datapack, you can craft hammers of all material tiers, from wood to netherite.
The key feature is the transformation of blocks when broken with a special hammer: cobblestone turns into gravel, then into sand, and sand into clay balls. Clay blocks, in turn, become coarse dirt when smashed.
Additional options for breaking down various blocks deserve special attention — stone bricks turn back into stone, sandstone becomes sand, polished andesite reverts to regular andesite stone, and so on.
What's New?
Hammers in this version have special properties — they can act as pickaxes or axes when breaking corresponding blocks, but their main function remains the varied transformation of one material into another. If the hammer cannot break a block in a special way, it will simply drop as usual.
Special Upgrade Process
Want to upgrade a diamond hammer to netherite? Don't use the smithing table traditionally! Better just stand directly in front of it, holding a netherite upgrade template in your offhand, and the hammer itself in your main hand. With a netherite ingot available, simply crouch to start the upgrade process.
All enchantments, custom names, and other modifications are fully preserved during the upgrade, just like in standard Minecraft improvements.
Bonus Features
Diamond and netherite hammers have a small chance to yield 1-2 iron nuggets when breaking red sand. The success probability increases with the Fortune enchantment — perfect for searching for ore in mesa biomes.
Almost any block in the game can be tried to break with a hammer in reverse direction. For example, quartz blocks turn back into quartz. The list of compatible materials is constantly expanding.
