Respawn Obelisks
Respawn Obelisks is a compact yet significant mod that completely overhauls the respawn system in Minecraft. Throughout the world, you'll find new respawn obelisks. Simply click on them to set your spawn point after death. This feature replaces beds (but this can be changed in the settings).
After death, when respawning at an obelisk, it will consume charge. Maintain the charge using Ender Pearls and Eyes of Ender (or place a beacon underneath the obelisk for infinite charge). If there's insufficient charge, you'll receive a curse that temporarily reduces your maximum health.
Obelisks only work in their respective dimensions (in the wrong dimension, they explode like beds). In the Overworld, you can find them in villages and small structures on plains. In the Nether, look for obelisks in blackstone shrines. In the End, they're located on wild ships floating among the outer islands.
If you want to move an obelisk, breaking it will give you a "dormant obelisk" that doesn't function on its own. Use JEI to learn how to convert it back to an active one.
Obelisks require cores to function. In wild obelisks, cores are already installed. You can use these cores in your personal obelisks, but there's no way to craft new ones.
The maximum charge of cores and obelisks can be increased in various ways—check JEI for details.
Additional Features
Core Management
To install a core into an obelisk, simply right-click the obelisk with the core in hand. To remove it, hold Shift and right-click with an empty hand.

Obelisk Charging
To charge an obelisk, right-click it with a suitable item. All charging items can be viewed in JEI.

Comparator Support
Obelisks support comparators! They output a redstone signal based on the charge level. Make sure the comparator is reading the bottom part of the obelisk.

Obelisk Customization
To change the respawn side, hold Shift and scroll the mouse wheel on the bottom part of the obelisk.

Teleportation
Use a recovery compass bound to a lodestone under the obelisk to teleport back to it.

Revival
Obelisks can revive entities bound to their cores. After a bound entity dies, a totem icon will appear above the obelisk. Use a totem of undying on the obelisk to revive up to 3 dead entities.
If you can't bind an entity, it might not support revival. The settings include a whitelist of supported entities. Most passive creatures are supported by default.

Obelisk Naming
Rename the core in an anvil to change the name displayed above the obelisk.

Obeliskbound Enchantment
Items with this enchantment are retained after death when respawning at an obelisk. By default, there are 3 levels, each giving a 25% chance to keep the item (configurable). The enchantment cannot be obtained from villagers or enchantment tables.

Immortality Curse
When respawning at an obelisk without charge, you'll receive a curse. Each curse level removes 1 heart, up to 5 times. After the 5th time, you'll be sent to the world spawn.

Settings
Respawn Obelisks is incredibly customizable. Many features are disabled by default (for balance). If the mod seems too weak, check the settings: you can reduce respawn costs, remove the curse, add cheaper charging items, and much more.
Don't want other players using your obelisk's charge? Enable the trust system (active by default) or set up personal charge for each player!
