Retro Machines
The Retro Machines mod offers a unique opportunity to dive into nostalgia and relive the golden era of video games right within the Minecraft world. It fully integrates a Gameboy emulator, allowing you to run classic games without leaving the blocky universe.
Important information: The mod does not contain any copyrighted materials, including game ROMs. It includes the free open-source 2048 game (source code available on GitHub: Sanqui/2048-gb).
You can load custom ROMs in two ways: through the "Open ROM" button or by simply dragging and dropping files directly into the Minecraft window.
The mod is built on an adapted version of the mvdnes/rboy open-source Gameboy emulator, specifically modified for integration with Minecraft.
While the current version represents a prototype created in just a few days, the developer has ambitious plans for the project's development:
- Improving the audio system with integration into Minecraft's audio engine
- Implementing link cable support for multiplayer networks
- Adding more built-in games
- Support for other retro consoles and hardware
- Texture improvements (community assistance is welcome!)
