Sacrifice to Hephaestus
This modification introduces a unique block called "Sacrifice to Hephaestus" into the game.
Hephaestus, according to ancient Greek mythology, was the god of blacksmithing and fire. With this mod, you can make an offering to him by burning bones, rotten flesh, coal, and an iron ingot in hopes of receiving a piece of chainmail armor as a gift. This is an excellent addition for thematic modpacks, map creators, or simply for players who appreciate an element of randomness in crafting.
The mechanics are simple: the player crafts a special block that, when activated with flint and steel, ignites with a particle effect and generates one of the four pieces of vanilla chainmail armor. One armor piece is guaranteed to be received, and the random number generator has been thoroughly tested to ensure equal probability for each item drop - this prevents situations where a player accumulates dozens of helmets, twenty chestplates, forty leggings, but no boots.
Future plans: Although the mod is fully functional, there are several improvements that would be desirable to implement to increase its appeal:
- Improve block textures
- Add configuration options requiring the creation of a multi-block "altar" structure for sacrifices to work
Porting to versions 1.8.9, 1.9.4, and 1.10.2 is planned in the near future.
