Scorched - Desert Biomes Overhaul

The Scorched mod fundamentally transforms deserts and badlands, making them more rich and interesting to explore. Development was carried out in collaboration with several authors, ensuring diverse content.

This addon introduces changes to world generation but does not affect biome placement, allowing safe installation on existing worlds. Compatibility has been tested with popular world generation mods like Tectonic and Terralith.

Main Features

Enhanced Desert Pyramids - classic pyramids have received a magical transformation. To reach the treasures, you need to explore the structure, find three frame pieces, and assemble them to access the basement where chests are guarded by protective spells and a golem.

Badlands Pyramids - a larger and more dangerous version of desert pyramids, filled with fire traps. The rewards here are more valuable, but the risks are significantly higher.

Sand Crawlers - a new type of spider inhabiting deserts and badlands. They quickly burrow into sand and have increased health, but move slower on hard surfaces.

Pyramid Golems - guardians of pyramid basements. To temporarily neutralize them, simply throw a water potion at them, which will stun them for 5 seconds.

Updated Desert Wells - 10 new well variants added with small caves at the bottom containing ores and sometimes moss patches.

Cactus Juice - a new food source created in a cauldron using 6 cacti, 6 sugar, and a water bottle. Provides Resistance I for 10 seconds.

Beach Sand Crabs - inhabitants of coastlines, revealing their presence through sand particles. When breaking a sand block, they jump out and leave bones, iron, or treasures.

World Generation

Desert Oases - special zones with lush vegetation, flowers, water, and azalea trees, providing access to wood.

Enhanced Wooded Badlands - added new dark oak trees, large bushes, and open terracotta areas while preserving classic oaks.

Sparse Wooded Badlands - lowland areas with predominantly decayed trees.

Vanilla Feature Improvements - cacti generate in larger groups, reduced number of dead bushes in badlands.

Scattered Dead Oaks - rare trees in deserts and badlands providing small amounts of wood.

Oasis Tree Saplings - plant an oak sapling and drop an azalea on top to grow a special oasis tree.

Badlands Dark Oak Saplings - use a dark oak sapling with red sand to grow a new tree type. Also works with automatic generation in wooded badlands.
