SCP-148, Telekill Modification

The SCP-148 mod, also known as Telekill, introduces a new supernatural metal ore into Minecraft. The concept and the material's name are borrowed from the popular SCP Foundation universe.

Features and Extraction

SCP-148 ore generates exclusively in the Overworld. It is a highly rare resource that can only be found at depths from level 10 to -64 (Y coordinate). Mining it requires a pickaxe crafted from Netherite.

Production and Usage

The extracted ore must be smelted in a blast furnace to obtain ingots. Crafting one Telekill Ingot requires a complex recipe involving Netherite, diamonds, and copper.

The resulting ingot is used for crafting durable blocks or upgrading Netherite tools, weapons, and armor at a smithing table. Now you can craft special armor, weapons, and a shield.

Gameplay with the Mod

The entire gear set made from this material grants the player phenomenal power: the sword deals colossal damage of 80 points, often allowing the destruction of enemies with a single strike. Armor provides supreme protection, neutralizes Piglin aggression, and shields against several negative effects.

However, this unparalleled strength comes with significant drawbacks.

The Dark Side and Balance

Items based on Telekill are extremely unstable. Tools and weapons considerably lag in durability compared to other elite materials. During use, especially in combat with mobs, the equipment quickly wears out and can unpredictably harm the owner: inflict a short negative effect, break, or even transform into a defective item—the broken sword (SCP-1023-ARC). The latter is incredibly dangerous as it kills any entity upon a single touch but can be used only once.

The anomalous nature of the alloy prevents the use of regular enchanting tables for enhancements—any attempts to bestow magical properties upon it end in failure or uncontrolled consequences. Repairing items, except for the ill-fated broken sword, is exceedingly difficult and costly due to the ore's scarcity. Should the durability of such an item drop below a certain threshold, it turns into an absolute weapon of destruction.

Conclusion

Players who decide to mine and use this metal will face a choice—risk obtaining peak power required for the most challenging encounters or prefer the stability and reliability of familiar materials. This interesting technological basis incorporates several unique layers of strategic gameplay at once.
