

Sculk Expansion
This datapack/server-side mod significantly expands gameplay possibilities related to sculk and the Warden, adding new mechanics and functionality.
Warden Enhancements
The Warden now leaves a trail of sculk behind, spreading it across the ground as it moves. In some cases, this can lead to the appearance of sculk sensors and even active sculk shriekers. If you plan to contain a Warden in a limited space or bring it to the surface, be extremely careful!
Additionally, Wardens now swim significantly faster in water and cannot drown. This change makes it impossible to create farms based on drowning these creatures.
Recovery Compass
The recovery compass has gained an additional function: when held in hands, every 2 seconds it emits soul particles that indicate the direction to the nearest mob or player within a 32-block radius from you.
Gameplay Mechanics
Sculk veins can now be used for climbing, making the exploration of ancient cities even more exciting. However, note that due to the peculiarities of the climbable
tag, walking on sculk veins on the floor will slow down your movement.
Sculk blocks, sculk catalysts, and reinforced deepslate can now burn with eternal soul fire when ignited. This opens up excellent opportunities for construction and creating atmospheric builds!
New Crafting Recipes
The mod adds four new crafting recipes:
- From four sculk veins, you can create one sculk block, and vice versa
- When smoking one sculk block, you can get one sculk vein and some amount of experience, providing an automated way to extract experience from sculk instead of manual destruction with a pickaxe or hoe
- From eight sculk blocks and one glass bottle, you can create a bottle o' enchanting, offering an alternative way to accumulate experience without the need for trading with villagers
