Seeds - Ecological Survival and Recycling

Mod Banner

The Seeds mod completely transforms the approach to waste management and resource handling in Minecraft. In the standard game, we're accustomed to throwing away unwanted items, leaving things on the ground, and using bone meal to speed up plant growth. Now, such careless behavior will be punished by the appearance of two new hostile creatures!

New Environmental Threats

Waste and Bad Grass - these monsters can destroy your mob farms and crops, while an atmosphere oversaturated with carbon dioxide can literally burn you alive! To combat these threats, the mod offers a whole arsenal of gadgets, tools, and blocks.

Bad Grass

Recycling System

The mod adds a new tool - the Crushing Stone, which allows efficient recycling of equipment. It's used for crushing metallic (iron, gold, and chain) and leather gear. Later, you can upgrade it to an Obsidian Crusher for working with diamond and netherite items.

Crushing Stone

Flint Tools

You can create a complete set of flint tools! They allow mining everything available to iron tools (diamond ore, gold ore, redstone...), but with stone tool durability. These tools have a small chance of automatically smelting/melting mined resources.

Flint Tools

Dangerous Bone Meal

One of the three main mechanics of the mod is the negative effect of bone meal (can be disabled with the badBonemeal rule). Now it can spawn a plant monster called Bad Grass with a certain probability, which is aggressive toward the player. This weed creature is attracted to your crops and destroys them. It also spawns naturally on grass at night and drops Sharp Leaf.

Watering Cans for Safe Fertilization

To solve this problem, the mod adds Watering Cans that use bone meal diluted in water. To refill the watering can, you need a water source, throw bone meal into it, and then right-click with your watering can. It works like regular bone meal but without negative effects, and also deals 10 damage to Blazes and Endermen when used sneakily. Available in 3 versions: clay/copper (capacity 50), iron (100), and gold (150).

Watering Cans

Sharp Leaf Tools

With Sharp Leaves obtained from Bad Grass, you can create a complete set of tools. Their feature is high efficiency and lightness, but very low durability (like gold but even more pronounced).

Sharp Leaf Tools

Mud Golem for Protection

For protection against Bad Grass, Seeds adds a pet made of mud and dirt - the Mud Golem! Create it by placing a dirt block and a carved pumpkin on top. It attacks Bad Grass, Creepers, and Waste (perfect for farm protection). This golem drops dirt and sometimes (if you're lucky) a music disc "Into The Jungle"!

Mud Golem

Item Transformation into Waste

The second mechanic gives a "second life" to your items when they disappear from the ground... As soon as an item disappears, it transforms into Waste (can be disabled with the generateWaste rule)! This monster attacks all animals (including you 😂) and usually appears in groups (so don't leave items lying around). It only appears through this mechanism and drops Garbage.

Waste

Trash Cans and Recycling

Garbage can also be obtained using a Trash Can! It works like a composter - right-click with any item (be careful not to throw away valuable things), and it will fill your trash can and give some Garbage (which can be stored as blocks).

Trash Can

You can melt Garbage Blocks to make Stuff that contains vegetable, mineral, and other materials. These raw materials allow you to create Repairers - large rings that repair equipment in your hands and worn armor. There are 3 types: Small Repairer (50 durability), Medium (100), and Large (150).

Repairers

Carbon Dioxide System

The third mechanic of the mod is an invisible carbon dioxide meter in the world. It naturally increases and decreases, stabilizing at 500, but grows when smelting items in a furnace (works with other furnace types), during explosions, when intentionally releasing CO2... and decreases when trees grow or when you yourself suck CO2 using a Vacuum Cleaner (in creative mode, you can change pollution level with commands /increasepollution /decreasepollution).

CO2 System

Useful Gadgets

Among all gadgets added by Seeds: Leaf Hook (works as a simple grappling hook with 75-block range, can be combined with elytra flight to save fireworks), Vacuum Cleaner (attracts items and entities in a 6x6x6 block area and sucks CO2 from height 100, with unlimited carbon dioxide in the Nether) and Carbon Dioxide Sensor (allows seeing pollution level).

CO2 Storage and Usage

For storing CO2, you can use a Carbon Dioxide Tank (to transfer carbon dioxide, hold the tank in your off-hand and vacuum cleaner in your main hand, then sneak + right-click). But with a simple click, you can eject the CO2 inside as dry snow that can extinguish fire on entities and blocks! This dry snow doesn't melt and can be collected with a shovel to create dry snowballs, dry snow blocks, and finally Dry Ice blocks (which cause cold burns and are more slippery than blue ice).

CO2 Tank

Sparkling Water and Potions

You can infuse dry snow in a brewing stand, in a water bucket, or water bottle to make Sparkling Water. This special water in a bucket can be placed and has the same properties as soul sand bubble columns but doesn't require a source. The Sparkling Water Bottle can be drunk - it doesn't add food but increases the saturation bar (to facilitate player digestion).

Sparkling Water

You can place a Sparkling Water Bottle in a brewing stand to create new potions: Potion of Bounce (gives Bounce effect making the player bounce like a slime), Potion of Air Calling (gives Air Call effect attracting the player out of water), and finally Potion of Recovering (gives Bubble Recovery effect allowing escape from the void).
