How to Work with Sculpted Sheep

What You Need to Get Started

For Minecraft versions 1.15 and below, you'll need the Chisel mod version 0.0.7.7 or higher installed. In Minecraft 1.16+, the mod can work either independently or in combination with Chisel.

The Process of Creating a Sculpted Sheep

• Create an iron or diamond chisel (or the alternative "Not a chisel" tool if other options are unavailable)
• Right-click to open the preview menu
• Place the block you want to cover the sheep with in the appropriate slot
• Exit the menu
• Left-click on the sheep you want to transform
• The sheep will look confused, and one block will disappear from the chisel

Returning Sheep to Their Original Form

• Left-click on the modified sheep with an empty preview slot, and the block will be returned to you

Functional Sheep Features (Version 1.1.0 and Above)

Some types of sheep have special properties:

• Redstone Sheep - activate redstone signals
• TNT Sheep - explode when exposed to redstone
• Glowstone Sheep - illuminate the surrounding area (disabled by default due to potential lag)
• Flying Sheep - rise into the air when using blocks with fans
• Crafting Table Sheep - function as regular crafting tables
• Anvil Sheep - work as anvils
• Cactus Sheep - deal damage and destroy items
• Magma Sheep - deal fire damage
• Automatic Crafting Table Sheep - automatically create items according to recipes
• Chance Cube Sheep - added in version 1.5.0

Commands and Settings

Command Management

Use the command /shearmadness chancecubes to enable or disable chance cube sheep.

Shearing Settings

In the shearmadness.cfg configuration file, you can change sheep shearing behavior. The following options are available:

• RevertSheep - standard mode, returns sheep to normal appearance
• ChiselFarm - allows block farming by letting sheep regrow wool (not recommended for servers)
• CannotShear - completely disables shearing ability

Breeding Settings (Version 1.7.0)

Determines what the offspring will be like when breeding sheep:

• Unchiseled - regular sheep
• SimpleBreeding - offspring inherit the appearance of one of the parents

Frequently Asked Questions

Will other mobs be added for transformation?

Not planned - sheep have a unique structure that's perfect for this type of modification.

Does this mod create item duplication?

Yes, that's why various shearing modes were added in version 1.0 to balance the game.
