Shield Expansion

Shield Expansion fundamentally transforms Minecraft's combat system, making shield usage more strategic and engaging. It introduces a shield tier system and two new mechanics: vulnerability period after blocking and attack parrying.

The Art of Parrying

Parrying is a technique requiring precise timing: you need to raise your shield right before the moment of attack impact. Successful parrying allows you to avoid the vulnerability period and provides additional advantages. You push back melee opponents and reflect enemy projectiles back at attackers!

Pushing an enemy with a wooden or golden shield doesn't deal damage, but all other shield types perform a counterattack, returning a percentage of the damage the enemy would have dealt to you. The higher the shield tier, the greater the percentage of returned damage, but the time window for successful parrying becomes shorter.

Compatibility and Settings

The mod has built-in compatibility with Mining Master, allowing you to upgrade the diamond shield to the powerful Paragon Shield. Integration with Team Abnormals' Savage and Ravage mod is also supported for complete explosion protection.

A key feature of Shield Expansion is that its mechanics automatically apply to all shields from other mods. All attributes can be customized using datapacks, while basic functionality can be adjusted through the configuration file.
